What is difference between “Boat Name” and “User boat name”.
The “Boat Name” is the real name of your sailing boat. It doesn’t need to be unique since probably other sailors had the same good idea to name their boat like yours. Therefore, we have set up another field “User boat name”, which needs to be unique. The “User boat name” will the name that is also displayed on your profile. Further, you can set up different “boat profiles” by using different “User boat names” (e.g. to differentiate different configuration of your boat, or different load of your boat (fully loaded for some longer cruising versus emptied for a regatta)).

It is important to set the size of your boat (real or virtual) for determine in which group you will compete.
The rating of the boat is also important for the compensate time.
The value of the “ratings” in IRC and HN are at discretion of the owner but these values will be posted in the result table.
